History Deserves to be

Remembered!

Here will be posted interesting and little-known United States history brought to you by Lance Geiger.

The Road to Forever War

President Jimmy Carter carried on the tradition of "moral diplomacy" to respond to the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan in 1979. His boycott of the Summer Olympics and grain embargo were controversial, but his commitment to protecting the free flow of oil from the Persian Gulf (his "Carter Doctrine") would have far more lasting effects on US foreign policy--the concept of "forever war."

A Date Which Will Live in Obscurity

December 7th would be a day that would "live in infamy," but the events of December 5th would have as big an impact on World War II and American history as the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor!

Chew on This

It is strange to think that the guy who killed Davy Crockett at the Alamo had an effect on what you enjoy for a sweet snack.
